Thermal resistance
Ceramics are selected for resistance to elevated temperatures and repeated RF exposure, intended to reduce the surface degradation softer coatings can suffer.
Surface technology
An all-ceramic non-stick surface designed to reduce tissue adhesion and remain stable under RF cutting and coagulation, without relying on PTFE or related fluoropolymers.

Coating surface treatment
RF-NonStick is a ceramic surface treatment designed for stability under the thermal and mechanical conditions of RF electrosurgery. At the material level it maintains surface continuity and resists degradation at the elevated temperatures associated with cutting and coagulation.
The ceramic structure on the active region of the electrode provides a stable interface between electrode and tissue while supporting consistent RF energy transfer.
Design intent & material characteristics
Ceramics are selected for resistance to elevated temperatures and repeated RF exposure, intended to reduce the surface degradation softer coatings can suffer.
Designed to tolerate thermal cycling and handling without peeling, delamination or significant surface alteration.
Designed to be compatible with common sterilization processes, including steam, for established reprocessing workflows.
Implemented without PTFE or related fluoropolymers. Some polymer coatings may degrade thermally under RF energy; avoiding fluoropolymers eliminates the potential for fluoropolymer degradation by-products. Material selection follows medical device material evaluation practices.
By limiting tissue build-up at the electrode interface, the coating supports more stable surface conditions, can reduce interruptions to clean the electrode, and supports predictable electrode–tissue interaction throughout a procedure.
Microscopy
Surface imaging after RF activation shows the difference between ceramic and polymer-based coatings.
Application across our devices
RF-NonStick is applied across select electrosurgical devices where controlled tissue interaction and surface stability matter, on electrode designs for RF cutting and coagulation. It complements system-level RF technology by addressing the electrode–tissue interface rather than altering generator output or technique.
